Rules
As Stated:
99.9% of the writers who frequent this board are welcome and it is an honour and pleasure to have you here.
To the .01% who are more interested in being negative, bitter, and argumentative you are now on notice. No longer will you abuse the ‘guest’ feature for your gratification.
The Rosa & Ashley Message Boards for Writers is now a ‘members only’ board.
The only ‘guests’ permitted to post are companies, agents, directors, producers, agencies and script related businesses seeking material.
AND
Writers posting their loglines and synopses.
PERIOD!
If you are not one of these (#2) above, DO NOT POST AS A GUEST. It will be deleted immediately and a warning issued.
Some Reasons Why Posts May Be Removed:
- off topic - drastically - needless digs at producers, writers etc. - argumentative – with other posters or Administrators - you are replying to your own post as a factious producer etc. - being disrespectful
Please be courteous when posting and replying. This is a private board open to the public. Your freedom of speech does not apply here.
We have had the misfortune of banning a few people over the last two years. Three to be exact. Here is how the banning process works. We track and record ISP numbers of posting violators then you will receive three warnings. If you persist then we must assume that you are not a serious writer and care little that your work is discovered. After three warnings no more warnings your screen name and posts will be deleted and you will be banned for 7 to 21 days to ‘reflect’. If you are banned a third time then you will be banned permanently.
DO’S & DON’T’S
DON’T DON’T assume producers/directors/companies/agents will frequent the board just to answer your questions – they haven’t the time - CONTACT THE COMPANY DIRECTLY – BE PRO ACTIVE DON’T WAIT - while you are waiting hundreds possibly thousands of submissions are being sent into these companies depending on how many forums they are posted in. Timing is everything. DON’T complain if your submission is not replied to when replying to a post - follow up your submission if you don’t hear from them DON’T send scripts that do not fit the description the posts are seeking DON’T be disheartened if your script is slow to move - keep writing and be patient
DO DO have your script(s) copyrighted for your protection before posting DO post your logline and synopsis on every message board you can find DO reply to posts that fit your scripts DO set aside time every day or week just to contact companies etc. DO write down (or save to file) names, address all info about companies you contacted, are going to contact or are following up on – keep a log DO contact these companies regularly once every couple of months or so DO be positive about your material but not pushy DO except a ‘no’ when you get one ‘move on’
PERSONAL NOTE: we have battled against an all members board for a while now and we realise that we run a tighter ship than most boards. But, it is clear that the trouble is by people abusing the ‘guest’ feature.
PLEASE: do not respond with suggestions or a defensive viewpoint. This is not a debate. We are not interested.
BE PRO ACTIVE BELIEVE IN YOUR SCRIPT AND...
CONTACT THE COMPANIES DIRECTLY! CONTACT THE COMPANIES DIRECTLY! CONTACT THE COMPANIES DIRECTLY!
GET YOUR MATERIAL OUT AND SEEN!
Good luck and let us know when your script is purchased or optioned so we can brag about it on here.
Cheers, Rosa & Ashley

Recommendations from TriggerStreet member postings, so figured I’d check this site out -- Never hurts to expand contacts or at the very least see how others are doing.

Am I dealing with the right people? I am the author of "Echoes of History", published by Tellwell (not sure of its legitimacy), apparently in Victoria, B. C., and "Strange Associations", published by Xlibris or Iuniverse (not sure of reputation). Both tell the same story of the difficulties the inventor of VALIUM encountered after it was stolen and used by the German Army attacking Poland to start WWII, as "the drug of the valiant". I was told this by Mr.Leo Sternbach, who invented benzodiazepine and its relatives in 1938 in Krakow, Poland. I was an invited guest representative from Canada, and apparently Mr.Sternbach was not happy with the American company's promoting it as an American development. I promised to write the story and publish it. John M. Hill

Both titles, "Echoes of History", and "Strange Associations", have the same story by John M. Hill. The story is soon to be a movie, made basically in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, called "Hollywood North", check it out. I, John M. Hill, author of the above story, am requesting a GENERAL CALL for someone to generate a SCREENPLAY OR SCRIPT of the book, the winner to be awarded the contract as screenwriter of the above book. The laws of the U.S. and Canada (essentially the same) will apply. The book is available from Barnes and Noble, etc., and is listed with Indigo, Amazon, etc. Joh.n M. Hill, author. THE STORY: The story is that of the inventor of Valium, Leo Sternbach, who created the basic molecule in Krakow, Poland, in 1938. His lab. was trashed and sample stolen, by 'brownshirts' reporting to a bungling German officer. Called 'the drug of the Valiant', it was used by troops attacking Poland, and so it was treated as a 'secret weapon' with the usual searches being triggered. Leo's colleague and fiance, a vocal but beautiful jewish girl, was soon arrested after she complained about the arrest of her parents, and he spent many months searching for her in the newly created Warsaw Ghetto. He refuses to be a refugee long after she was arrested. His searching throughout the Warsaw Ghetto continues, with help from neutral Switzerland. JMH.
