Title: Only God Knows Why
Logline: Morgan family were living the American Dream, but her life was a living hell; suffering rape and abuse robbed of her innocence, her dreams, and possessions- she clung to the one thing that would pull her through, the one thing they could never take away, her faith
This is the true life story of Morgan. A child who could never understand why there was always a man’s hand foundling her. Each time the bedroom door closed Margaret stood on the other side, what did she care. She might as well put an add in the paper. “Sex for sale”. When I told my mother of the pain between my legs, I was told I was a dirty little girl.
Growing up was hard to do when you are told you never were wanted. Morgan could never look into the mirror and love the person she saw. Morgan suffered racism from her own family bloodline.
Looking into this family they were living the American Dream. Looks are deceiving. Walter thought he was the richest man in town to him he had it all. He owned bars, and gas stations and all the women one man could want.
Morgan learned to live a life of lies and deception. She had to do it all just to survive. At an early age Morgan was exposed to rape, mental abuse, drugs, and alcohol.
Morgan was caught in this vicious cycle of neglect and mental abuse for many years. After many attempts of suicide even death didn’t want her. Instead of being named Morgan my name should have been Pain & Rejection.
All threw her life Morgan always asks God, “Why am I here”. A question that took years to get an answer to. Was sanity to much to ask for?
Morgan’s drug use took its toll on her. Sometimes Morgan found herself living in abandon houses. Only to have her parents look for her just to laugh in her face. Morgan’s parents even turned her oldest son against her.
God did answer Morgan’s question. God was with her through her journey and struggle with molestation, abuse, rejection, fear, anger, suicide, and drug use. It was the mercy and grace of God that was the healing power that transformed Morgan’s life.
This is my life story from 1969-2005. Today I am a Pastor, Author, wife, mother, grandmother, and mentor. I am highly respected among my peers. If God did it for me he can do it for you.
