Title: Columbia Gorge
Genre: Dark comedy/horror
Logline: A serial killer’s relationship turns into a war of the sexes when his girlfriend realizes he values his “hobby” more than her.
Synopsis: Life is good for serial killer Earl Toteman. He’s good at his work, his live bait business is thriving (thanks to regular infusions of human flesh) and the police are clueless. But something’s missing. Someone too share it all with.
Earl meets eccentric blind artist Edna Palmer. They quickly become a couple. But soon Ed becomes suspicious. Earl disappears frequently late at night to go “fishing.” Ed confronts him and demands the truth. Earl tells her. Instead of being repulsed, Ed is attracted. Earl is sharing the most intimate part of himself. But his continued absences frustrate her. It’s clear what he values most. And it’s not her. She makes him promise to quit his “digusting hobby” but he delivers only lies and broken promises.
Finally, Ed blows up after he has a dalliance with Tinkerbell, a teenage hooker he’s befriended. She dumps him and calls the police. Earl’s world falls apart. He’s under surveillance, his business is failing and a spitting-mad Ed has kidnapped Tinkerbell seeking revenge. Earl risks everything to save Tinkerbell in a final showdown with Ed.
